The Sugar Valley Rural Charter School emphasizes family participation. Part of this participation is active volunteerism. School volunteers are a very important part of making the school operate smoothly, and are highly valued for their contributions.

Our Volunteer Coordinator for 2007-2008 is Mrs. Judy Ruhl. She can be contacted through the school, (570) 725-7822. Judy will be working to gather information about parent skills, interests and talents, and how to match these abilities with volunteer events. They will also keep the master logbook of volunteer hours, which are tax-deductible as a charitable contribution.

Parents are asked to contribute 20 hours per year to help the school. We try to tailor each volunteer's contribution to their unique talents and skills. Volunteers help with school events, light maintenance work, and all manner of special projects, and their services are invaluable to our school community!
