1.1. Purpose

In accordance with the mission of SVRCS, curriculum development will pivot on the need to prepare this generation, and future generations, to be adaptable and flexible, to possess analytic minds to cope with the multifaceted society of the future, while valuing the prevailing conditions of the social and cultural life in which they live and learn.

To promote life-long learning as set forth in the mission of SVRCS, it follows that students of all ages need to feel they can initiate activities and be exposed to a range of experiences, activities and skills to empower them to make realistic choices during periods of leisure and in the pursuit of a vocation.

Students will need to develop the confidence to try new experiences, to use their time in ways that are satisfying to them and to generate a belief in their ability to take responsibility for their own lives.

SVRCS acknowledges that these skills have their genesis in early childhood and can be enhanced throughout the life span of the learner.
